CAROLINE FAY is an Irish painter, recently moved from London to Upstate NY. Her art combines aspects of still life, nature morte and scientific illustration. Her realist paintings are traditional in style but contemporary in context, highlighting the realities of modern times. By fusing elements from nature, visual metaphors and symbolism, her work captures the tenacity and fragility of both humans and nature.

Caroline is a professional artist and art tutor based in the Western Catskills of Upstate NY. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art and trained at the Art Students League of New York. She has exhibited widely and has been researching and painting nature and threatened species for the past 5 years. In November 2017, Caroline founded the Big Little Art Studio in Walton, NY, which serves as both her own personal studio and a creative community space for all ages and abilities to learn new skills and enjoy all areas of art through various classes and workshops.

“Current environmental concerns and the relationship between man and nature are always at the forefront of my work. I want to encourage thoughtful reflection on our interaction with the natural world that is disappearing in front of our eyes. We need to remove the notion of separateness. We are interconnected and interdependent on each other. I hope my work can inspire others to reconnect, preserve and protect the wild species and natural habitats with which we share this planet.”
